We would like to encourage more students to play a musical instrument at Holy Trinity. We are aware that individual lessons on an instrument can be costly as can the purchase of an instrument.

We would like to offer small group lessons on the flute and trumpet as a way of introducing students to these instruments, beginning in Term 3 this year. Group lessons are ideal as they are less costly than individual lessons and parents will be able to judge their child’s interest in and aptitude to the instrument after a term or semester.

It is hoped that after a semester of group lessons, students who would like to continue with the instrument would move on to individual lessons.

The details for this exciting new initiative are below:

WHEN:

Flute – Tuesday or Thursday afternoons 3:30 – 4:30pm

Trumpet – Monday or Friday afternoons 3:30 – 4:30pm

WHERE: Holy Trinity Music Room

COST: Involvement in this program will cost $200 per semester charged directly to parents from the instrumental tutor. This will be adjusted in Term 3 due to the program not starting until about week 3. We have borrowed instruments from another school and will not be charging a hire fee. Students in the program will be given an instrument to take home for practise purposes. They will be responsible for the safe keeping of the instrument.
