Dear families and carers,
Todays message in the prayer above highlights the importance of building community. Our Year 6 learners have been working in Leadership initiative groups to promote positive relationships across our school. Our Year 6 Belonging group (Maya, Tristan, Mia, Aaliyah, Molly, Thirru, Amelia & Zac) came up with the idea of hosting a Talent Show. They identified the Talent Show as a way of celebrating our uniqueness and highlighted the importance of it not being a competition, but rather developing a sense of belonging and celebration of everyone and their skills, passions and talents. It was held across 3 days during lunch and recess with over 30 items presented by the talented students at Holy Trinity from Kinder to Year 6. A range of talents were on display from comedy routines, magic tricks to singing and dancing. The Belonging Group saw this as an opportunity to make connections across the school, providing a space to meet students with similar interests and talents. Their focus for the event was on wanting everyone to feel safe and welcome at school and be able to be who they are! Special thanks to Ms Winter for her support of the Talent Show and the Belonging group for their initiative.
Last Friday Year 3 Red shared their learning throughout their Where We Are In Place and Time inquiry with the central idea being "Movement has consequences". They shared stories of migration, the changes throughout Holy Trinity's history and the impact of change in our lives today. Mr Hart shared his musical talents with his learners singing with gusto and obvious enjoyment. It was wonderful to see the students presenting their learning with such confidence and pleasure. We wish Mr Hart all the best in his travels overseas next semester.
It has been lovely to see our families coming into schoool this week to celebrate their child's learning across semester one. Our learners have been sharing their learning journey, celebrating their growth across curriculum areas and setting goals for their next steps in learning in years 3-6. Our ELC- Year 2 families have enjoyed the opportunity to speak with their child's teacher and explore the learning experiences and growth. We look forward to sharing our Semester One Reports with families next Wednesday. I want to thank our wonderful teaching team for their preparation of learning conferences and reports across the past few weeks.
With one week left of term 2 I hope you all enjoy the weekend when it arrives.

Our Holiday Program consists of theme days and activities that will celebrate reading and give the children many opportunities to embrace their inner Dr Seuss.

Jamie Pearlman ACT Basketball Finals
On Tuesday the 15th of June, Holy Trinity’s 3/4 Boys Basketball team played in the ACT finals day held at the Belconnen basketball stadium. The boys played three games beating Canberra Grammar School 18-6, Radford 18-16 and finally over Hawker 26-12. This led them to play in the ACT final against Radford again where the boys displayed great determination to take home the win 18-14! ACT Champs!
Congratulations to all the boys who played in the south division and then who progressed to the ACT Finals Day. A great achievement for some of our Holy Trinity students. This marks the third year in a row that Holy Trinity has been ACT champions in either the 5/6 or 3/4 division.
We thank parents Mark Bullock and Steve McEwan and Holy Trinity's Anastasia Kalokerinos for their coaching and support of the boys throughout the two days.
Go Team Holy Trinity!

Redevelopment of Our House Group Identities - Part 4
Please find below the final part of the stories of our new House Group identities. See Week 6's Newsletter for more information on the background of the redevelopment.
Buru
Buru is the Ngunnawal word for kangaroo.
This house unites under the value of stewardship and the earth element of Country. They are symbolised by the kangaroo and the colour green.
At Holy Trinity, we are called to be stewards of God’s Creation and to care for the earth and its inhabitants. We understand that we have been entrusted with the preservation of the precious resources that support life and are committed to this mission. Stewardship forms the foundation for ethical choices and sustainable practices that ensure the well-being of both current and future generations and for the Country that we live on. We recognise that by caring for Country, Country will care for us.

SORA – Reading App: Holiday Reading Fun…
The Overdrive eBook company has developed a child-friendly eBook reading APP named SORA. SORA has over 30 000 age-appropriate books and approx. 3000 plus age-appropriate audio books available to download and read.
SORA is designed for children and has easy-to-use vertical screen options, attractive on-screen promotions, easily accessible statistics on reading completed, and rewards for reading.
SORA has been operational and widely used at Holy Trinity since 2019. SORA is easy for you and your children to access and is set up in age group stages - your children can only borrow books that are within certain age groups. SORA is a resource that is funded by Catholic Education.
You can login to Sora with your child’s normal CENet login – used at school to login to our CE network.
Please note that on SORA some books are available to borrow all the time, some books may require a waiting time as limited numbers have been purchased and most books have a timeframe in which they are on loan to a borrower. HT borrowing statistics are also sent to me regularly.
Below is an easy 'How to Guide' to download SORA – (perfect for those with limited IT skills).
