Dear God You create all people in your image.
We thank you for the astonishing variety of races and cultures in this world.
Enrich our lives by ever widening circles of friendship and show us your presence in those who differ most from us, until our knowledge of your love is made perfect in our love for all your children;
Through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
Dear Friends,
Week 7 brings with it important events, such as Harmony Day on Friday and the completion of NAPALN for our Year 3 and 5 students. Of course, another significant event is our biannual fete on Saturday! I cannot begin to thank all involved with the planning of this event for the last 8 months and I look forward to seeing all our students (and past students) smiles and giggles on Saturday as they enjoy a fun-filled day with their families and our special community.
Over the last few weeks, we have been delighted to recognise our Year 6, 5 4, and Music student achievements for this term. These awards have been presented at morning assembly with all our students and families present. This week, we continue with Year 3 and Library awards on Friday morning.
Holy Trinity Fete Countdown
Our Fete is three days away! We need your help to make it a success. Each Year Level has a stall, but any donations are welcome. You can drop them off at the Front Office or give them to your child's teacher. Thank you so much for these generous donations for us to sell on the day!
The Fete is on this Saturday 22 March 2025 and runs from 10am to 2pm.
We can't wait to see you there!
What we please need:
- Books for all ages
- Plants all shapes and sizes
- Baked cakes and biscuits
- Tombola jars filed with small treats, toys or fidgets
- Decorations for the Haunted House stall
How you can help
- Donate Items – please bring donations to the Front Office or to the stall before or on the day. We are happy to collect donations now, however understand that cooked treats are best dropped off the day before or on the day! Plants can be dropped off in the Kindergarten / Year 1 courtyard near the shed outside the staffroom door.
- Volunteers – we need volunteers to help set up, assist with the stalls and clean up after the Fete. If you are able to lend a hand, contact your Year Group stall coordinator or click here to sign up.
- Purchase Raffle Tickets
- Bake for our cake stall! A reminder to please list the ingredients. There are stickers available for labelling at the front office. It is really important to list ingredients for allergies and to please avoid nuts.
Here is another great recipe idea!
Rich chocolate fudge
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup (330g) caster (superfine) sugar
1/2 cup (110g) firmly packed light brown sugar
60 gram (2 ounces) dark eating (semi-sweet) chocolate, chopped coarsely
2 tablespoon glucose syrup
1/2 cup (125ml) pouring cream
1/4 cup (60ml) milk
40 gram (1½ ounces) unsalted butter, chopped
Method
1.Grease deep 15cm (6-inch) square cake pan; line base with baking paper, extending paper 5cm (2 inches) over sides.
2.Combine sugars, chocolate, syrup, cream and milk in small heavy-based saucepan; stir over heat, without boiling, until sugar dissolves. Bring to the boil; boil, uncovered, without stirring, about 10 minutes or until syrup reaches 116°C/240°F on candy thermometer.
3.Remove pan from heat immediately, leave candy thermometer in the syrup; add butter, do not stir.
4.Cool fudge about 20 minutes or until the temperature of the syrup drops to 40°C/104°F; remove candy thermometer.
5.Stir fudge with wooden spoon about 10 minutes or until a small amount dropped from the spoon will hold its shape.
6.Quickly spread fudge into pan; cover with foil. Stand at room temperature about 3 hours or until fudge sets.
7.Lift fudge out of pan; cut into squares.

Farewell and Congratulations!
After seven years within our school community, Lucy has decided to explore possibilities beyond Holy Trinity. As Lucy inches closer to completing her studies, we are supportive of her professional aspirations and congratulate Lucy on her success in gaining a role as a teacher. Her last day in our ELC will be Wednesday 26 March 2025.
Lucy has brought an energetic passion, love of the outdoors, new thought and a sense of joy to the classroom. We thank Lucy for her commitment to providing a high-quality learning experience for our children and their families. She has been instrumental in the success of our out of school hours care programs across the years and I acknowledge her leadership in this space.
Stay and Play
Stay and Play has launched again for 2025!
The intention of Stay and Play is to provide a place for connection for families within our Woden-area community and an opportunity for them to connect with Catholic education. It offers young children the opportunity to play, explore and learn, and for parents, it is an opportunity to connect with other parents and ELC staff. Feel free to share the details of Stay and Play with your friends and family, as it is an open opportunity for all.
We look forward to welcoming pre-preschoolers, toddlers and babies with their parent or carers for this community playgroup.
ELC Facebook
Holy Trinity ELC has a Facebook page, which we encourage you to follow. It is a space where we share important news about our ELC and some of the wonderful learning experiences that our children get up to.

Holy Trinity Swimming Carnival
What an exciting day it was at Holy Trinity's Swimming Carnival last Friday! Students, staff, and families came together to create a vibrant, fun-filled atmosphere at CISAC. The level of participation was outstanding, with students enthusiastically competing in races, while others enjoyed novelty events. The cheers and team spirit were contagious, making the event even more memorable.
A special thank you to all the parents who generously volunteered their time to assist with various roles throughout the day, ensuring everything ran smoothly. We would also like to extend our gratitude to the students from Mackillop, whose support and enthusiasm played a key role in making the day such a success.
Information about the South Weston Regional Carnival will be sent to families within the next week.

Canberra United Visit Holy Trinity
This week we were fortunate to have 2 players from Canberra United come to school to inspire the next generation of football players. Maya Markovski and Aideen Keane shared their personal experiences of playing in the league and shared their tips for keeping healthy and fit. Our students were able to ask questions and gain insights from the girls experiences playing around the world. Each child received a CU show bag with tickets to a game this Saturday afternoon. A special thank you to Michael Caggiano who facilitated the visit for Holy Trinity.

Soccer News
On Saturday 8th March, the Woden Valley Soccer Club played at the Merino Cup in Goulburn. We had 7 of our talented HT girls playing in this tournament, along with some of the other WVSC team players.
The girls played 4 pool games, against teams from Eurobodalla, Orange, Highlands, and Canberra Croatia. They were undefeated and only conceded 1 goal all day, with some amazing skills and team work.
They smashed it through to the grand final where they played Dubbo and won 7-0!
What a start to the upcoming season!
Welldone to our girls, and special thanks to Coaches (and Dads) James Mills, John Coates, and Neil Greenaway and Bec as our team admin.
