Dear families and carers,
On Tuesday evening, we gathered as a faith community to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation with our Year 6 students. Fr Richard led the celebration and spoke beautifully about the importance of allowing the Holy Spirit to guide us, strengthen us, and lead us in our daily lives.
It was a joyful and reverent occasion, marking a significant milestone in the faith journey of our students. Each candidate was supported by their sponsor and surrounded by the love and prayers of their family, friends, teachers, and parish community.
Thank you to Fr Richard, Fr James, Ms Capper and Year 6 teachers in preparing the students so beautifully for this special sacrament.
Celebrating Learning at Holy Trinity
It has been wonderful to welcome so many families into our school this week for our learning conferences. These conversations are a meaningful way to continue to strengthen the relationship between school and home, and we thank you for your time and support.
Students in Years 3–6 have confidently and thoughtfully shared their learning journey, celebrating their progress and identifying clear next steps for growth. It is a time of both celebration and reflection, acknowledging how far we’ve come and setting our sights on where we’re heading next.
For our junior primary students, these conferences have been a joyful opportunity for teachers and parents to celebrate the growth we have witnessed in our learners.
At Holy Trinity, we view assessment as an essential and ongoing part of learning. Our approach to assessment is guided by the following principles:
-
Holistic and Ongoing: Assessment is not a one-off event but a continuous process that supports teaching and learning every day.
-
Formative and Summative: We use both ongoing feedback (formative assessment) and culminating tasks (summative assessment) to build a full picture of student learning.
-
Student-Centered: Students are actively involved in reflecting on their learning and setting goals to support their next steps.
-
A Variety of Strategies: We use a wide range of tools and methods to capture each child’s progress and to cater for individual needs.
-
Growth-Focused: Our focus is on helping students understand where they are in their learning, where they need to be, and how to get there.
Thank you for partnering with us in your child’s learning journey. We are proud of all that our students have achieved, and we’re excited for what lies ahead. Our Semester One reports will be available in COMPASS next Wednesday.
Kindergarten Awards
Congratulations to our Kinder award winners for term 2. It was delightful to hear the celebrations of learning and growth in our Kinder students.
Sacrament of Confirmation
Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of Confirmation with such reverence on Tuesday evening. It was a very special occasion for our students and families and the culmination of weeks of prayer and preparation. Thank you to Father Richard, Father James and to Mrs McCann, Mrs Hudson & Mr O’Rourke for their dedication, care and support in preparing our students.
Global School Partners – Lolly Jar Guessing Competition
Next week we will launch our last fundraiser for Global School Partners - a lolly jar guessing competition. Students will be able to place their guesses before school and at lunch. It is a gold coin per guess! The winning guess will take home that jar of treats, announced on Thursday of Week 10.

Expressing Emotions
Our ELC classes continue to explore the different ways that people express themselves, and in particular, express feelings and emotions. The children have been supported to better recognise their own feelings and the possible corresponding body signals. How do you feel? What do you notice about how your body feels? With this in mind, the children are being encouraged to tune into how others are feeling too, by noticing different body language.
We’re excited to let you know that our ELC Pop-Up Store will be open during Weeks 9 and 10, offering second-hand ELC polar fleeces for just $10 each!
This is a great opportunity to grab a spare fleece (or two!) as we head into the middle of the cooler months, while also supporting sustainable practices through re-use of pre-loved items.
The pop-up store will be set up at drop-off and pick-up times on the ELC deck. All payments can be made via Qkr! (when you are at the pop-up store) and proceeds will go towards resources and experiences for our ELC children.
We look forward to seeing you there!
