As Term 3 ends, it’s a perfect moment to reflect on the exciting and productive few months we’ve had at Holy Trinity. This term has been rich with memorable experiences, including Assemblies, Prayer Celebrations, Incursions, and Excursions, and we’ve celebrated special events like Book Week and the Sacrament of Eucharist. We have also had students representing our school in various sporting events and academic challenges demonstarting the diversity of experiences our students participate in.
As I meet with new families hoping to join our community I speak about the wonderful staff we have at Holy Trinity who care deeply about our learners, but also of the wonderful parent community that support their children, and the staff in everything we do. Last Friday was a perfect example of the strength in our community, with so many grandparents and special friends joining us for our celebration. I hope all our staff find time to rest and rejuvenate during the break. Hopefully families will also find some down time, with opportunities to reconnnect and slow down before our final term for 2024.
Last weekend our 3 Tournament of Minds Teams representated Holy Trinity in the ACT finals. We placed 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the challenges. Congratulations to all our students and best wishes to the STEM team who have made it through to the International Finals in Sydney next term. It was fabulous to have so many of our staff there to cheer the students on.
Tomorrow we will have our final awards assembly for Term 3 at 2:30pm.
We are all looking forward to popping on the boots and hat and heading to the Country and Western disco tonight. Please remember to enter via the front doors of the school and our collection point at the end of the disco will be via the back entry only. A huge thank you to DJ Feerick, the staff and the Community Council for supporting this exciting event.
Please note 1 change in dates for Term 4, the Colour Run fundraiser will now be held in Week 5 November 15, with more details to come early next term.

Grandparents & Special Friends Day
On Friday last week we welcomed grandparents and special friends to visit Holy Trinity. We began with a beautiful Prayer Celebration hosted by Year 4 in the hall. Grandparents then enjoyed visiting classrooms followed by morning tea in the sunshine. We sincerely thank the grandparents in our lives, for their endless love and care. May we always remember the special gift they are!
Sacrament of First Eucharist
Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of First Eucharist with such reverence at the parish masses over the weekend. It was a very special occasion for our students and families and the culmination of weeks of prayer and preparation. Thank you to Fr John, our Year 4 teachers: Mrs Binutti-Wilson, Mr Davis and our Youth Minister: Claire Mass for their dedication, care and support in preparing our students.

Mango Fundraiser
It is that time of the year and the ELC is participating in the healthiest fundraiser around! The crop is looking great and is shaping up to be a good season. Trays of Bowen Kensington Pride mangoes, direct from tropical North Queensland will be delivered to the ELC in Term 4, Week 8 (week beginning 2 December 2024). Trays cost $29 and are approximately 7kgs (between 12 and 20 mangoes). Orders will open in Term 4, Week 1 and close on 28 October 2024.
School Holiday Program
The Early Learning Centre currently has a small number of casual places available for current ELC students to join us during the upcoming school holidays. Building on our current Unit of Inquiry which is focussing on living things and what they need to survive (and our visit to the National Zoo and Aquarium earlier in the term), we are excited by the possibility of collaboratively creating our very own Holy Trinity Zoo. We are preparing our guiding questions and then it will be over to the children to share ideas, collaborate, imagine, and create!
What does a zoo need? Where can we find more information about ______? How will we decide what should go into our zoo? How will we construct it? What resources will we need to gather? How will we work together to create our zoo?
Please contact the ELC to check availability and book your child in!
ELC Facebook
Holy Trinity ELC now has a Facebook page, which we encourage you to follow. We will post updates, reminders and share some of the wonderful learning experiences that our children get up to.

The Todd Woodbridge Cup ACT Final took place on Wednesday, 25th September, at Tennis World in Lyneham, and it was an action-packed event! Our incredible team of five boys and five girls gave an outstanding performance, winning the nail-biting final with 6 sets to 2. Their hard work, skill, and determination paid off as they secured their spot in the National Finals Series this November. A huge congratulations to all the students for their fantastic effort—what a brilliant achievement!
Congratulations to students and staff celebrating their birthday this week: Lightlin M, Ellis N, Lola C, Luca C, Shaun S and Mrs Nelson. Wishing you all a wonderful birthday and happy holidays!
