Dear families and carers,
What a beautiful week we've had with sunshine and warmth. You may have noticed some exciting changes happening to the front wall of our school. Kalara has begun to create her design and it is beginning to take shape. We look forward to seeing it evolve over the coming weeks.
Our Tournament of Minds team set off for Sydney today on the train with high energy and are looking forward to representing the ACT in the STEM International Finals. We wish them well for their days away and thank Miss Tonkin and Mrs Scougall who are supervising the team.
Last Friday Kinder White shared their learning across their How the World Works inquiry into how change tells a story. They displayed a variety of thinking skills through the text 'The Snail and the Whale" and the Learner Profiles represented in the text. It was wonderful to watch the confidence and enthusiasm the students displayed as they sang, read and used drama throughout the presentation.

Have you ever thought of becoming a Catholic?
If so, Fr John and some parishioners invite you to join them 7:00 - 8:30pm, Monday, 11 November, in the Parish Centre adjacent to Holy Trinity Church. The invitation is to meet regularly thereafter and journey possibly through to reception into the Church next Easter. You might not be baptised or christened, or you may have been baptised but not completed the other sacraments of Christian initiation. Join others to reflect on life and the teaching and practice of the Catholic faith and discern whether you might want to become Catholic or complete your sacramental initiation. All are welcome. An expression of interest can be sent to the Parish Office (6281 3999, wodennorth@cg.org.au) and Fr John will follow up.
Leaving Holy Trinity in 2025
Have a fabulous weekend.

Day for Daniel
On Friday Holy Trinity participated in Day for Daniel with our students invited to wear a red piece of clothing to school.
Day for Daniel is the Daniel Morcombe Foundation’s National Day of Action for child safety awareness and education. If you would like to find out more about the Daniel Morcombe Foundation, please visit their website: https://danielmorcombe.com.au/
Day for Daniel provided an invaluable opportunity for our students to learn about the significance of child safety. It is a reminder that education and awareness can help protect our students and create a safer community for all.

Inaugural Holy Trinity Open
The courts were buzzing with excitement as more than 50 students from Year 1 to Year 6 participated in the first-ever Holy Trinity Open Tennis. After an incredible week of matches, the championship finals took place on Monday.
In the boys' final, Odin Stroud emerged victorious over Leo Meagher with a standout performance. The girls' final was equally exciting, with Zara Greenaway defeating Aaliyah Aitken in a hard-fought match. Both champions displayed exceptional skill and sportsmanship, leaving teachers and spectators impressed.
A special thank you to Kids Biz for their generous prize sponsorship! The winners, Odin and Zara, will walk away with a $50 Rebel voucher as a reward for their efforts.
We also want to acknowledge all participants for their enthusiasm and fair play throughout the tournament—it was inspiring to see such competitive spirit and respect on the court.
Looking ahead, we can’t wait to continue the fun with a doubles competition in the coming weeks, along with a much-anticipated teachers vs. students showdown!
Woden Valley U10s
Over the weekend of 19th-20th October, some of our girls played at Broulee in the Coasties Cup tournament, representing Woden Valley Under 10s. They played an undefeated season at Woden Valley Soccer Club, so hopes were high!
At Broulee, after 1 loss, and 2 wins, they made it to the grand final against the South East Phoenix FC, who had beat them at their first ever game as a team in pre-season.
The U10 girls drew 1:1 at full time, going into nail biting extra time for golden goal. Less than 2 minutes into extra time, Woden Valley scored to secure the final.
Ivy E was even awarded the MVP award as voted by the referees over the weekend.
There were some very ecstatic, noisy, proud and emotional parents on the sidelines.
We had family time, beach soccer, swims, drinks, and a team dinner at Tomakin Sports Club. The girls friendships are so special, and a huge thanks to John Coates, and Coach Matt O’Dwyer for an outstanding season.
